Leading Australian telephone advertising and marketing firm, 1800 ONHOLD, has snared the 77th spot on the BRW Fast 100 list.
Founder Troy Cooper described the listing as “a remarkable achievement” for the rapidly growing Gold Coast company.
“This is great and just goes to show what can be achieved with a cutting edge product, solid business plan, plenty of determination and a motivated team,” Mr Cooper said.
1800 ONHOLD started life as a one-man, spare-bedroom-based operation in 1998 after the former radio announcer and audio engineer saw the need for a ‘more professional and entertaining approach to telephone messaging’.
The company currently boasts approximately 3000 clients across the country.
They have 14 full time staff and employ the talents of over 60 voiceover specialists who work from custom built sound studios on the Gold Coast — fittingly from the building that once housed local radio station 4GG.
Two years ago 1800 ONHOLD took out the Telstra and Australian Government's Small Business Award for Microbusiness [five employees or less] and last year lifted a Gold Coast Business Excellence Award for Innovation.
To qualify for the Fast 100, 1800 ONHOLD had to record a turnover of more than $250,000 in 2001/2002, and show consistent revenue growth since.
Mr Cooper said “Our sales have increased by almost 400% over the past three years. It is a very exciting time for the company.
Constant customer contact has been the key to our growth and that's the way we want to continue to go in the future, with more than 50 percent of our business coming from referrals.
When someone genuinely loves your product, they're happy to pass on our name to business colleagues.”
